The practitioner will
gain a unique perspective in underlying anatomy of acupuncture
point location by viewing a cadaver. This lab will emphasize anatomy,
palpation and needle depths.
This workshop will focus
on the treatment and assessment of common injuries to the thigh,
knee, lower leg, ankle and foot and their relation to the lumbar
spine.
Specific injuries will be
discussed in relation to TCM patterns which include greater trochanteric
burstis, adductor and hamstring strains, patellar tendinopathy
and many various knee injuries, tibial stress syndromes (shin
splints, ankle sprains, plantar fasciitis and more.
Innovative
treatment protocols will be introduced consisting of needle techniques
to the involved motor and acupuncture points to balance the somatic
system according to both TCM and western biomedical principles.
Injury specific stretches
and rehabilitative exercises will be demonstrated and practiced.
External herbal poultice applications are discussed.
The experience of this workshop
will refine your assessment and treatment skills, expand your
knowledge of needle techniques and greatly enhance the success
rate in treating lower extremity injuries.
