AcuSport Seminar Series LLC presents:

Cadaver Lab &
Common Injuries to the Lower Extremity

Course Objectives:

This workshop will focus on the treatment and assessment of common injuries to the thigh, knee, lower leg, ankle and foot and their relation to the lumbar spine. The first day (optional) will be cadaver examination of underlying anatomy of pelvic girdle and lower extremity anatomy. Cadaver examination provides practitioner confidence in acupuncture point location and needle techniques. This education combined with the weekend seminar greatly enhances the success rate in treating lower extremity injuries by allowing the participant from an anatomical view of combining western and eastern diagnostic and treatment techniques. We will examine mechanical "how and why" of specific injuries using orthopedic physical evaluations and manual muscle testing to assess the integrity of the musculoskeletal system. Treatment will consist of needle techniques to the involved motor and acupuncture points to balance the somatic system, as well as tuina manual setting, rehabilitation exercises and herbal prescriptions.

The practitioner will gain a unique perspective in underlying anatomy of acupuncture point location by viewing a cadaver. This lab will emphasize anatomy, palpation and needle depths.
